Its true I am so happy! Daleside has been gritted (has this ever happened before?) and no longer do I have to worry about whether somebody is going to end up on our lawn (or in our lounge) because they have taken the blind corner too fast on sheet ice! When the lovely gritter men arrived on Saturday I must admit I was so tempted to run up and kiss them. Lucky my husband stopped me! Joy to the world!

Lucky you I think Daleside was the only street in Cotgrave that had the footpaths gritted as well. My wife has fell over twice in this weather because the footpaths werent done.

I was actually referring to the gritting of the road surface. I know the council cannot grit all roads but I think that Daleside, White Furrows and Mensing should definitely be on the gritting map due to the number of houses there, its position on a hill and it being a hazardous road with lots of bends and blind corners. Mensing particularly should always be gritted at the bottom as the junction there gets black ice constantly and it can be very difficult to stop when the car comes down the hill to plumtree road with oncoming traffic. There is an accident waitin to happen unless the council start regularly gritting that area. But of course there is a grit shortage as its been said so we cant get our hopes too high!

prehaps it was deemed most hazerdous...I dont know. All I know is there is a national shortage and moaning about it isnt helping I appreciate your plight and feel for you but alas theres little anyone can do. A national newspapers readers letters gave a good insite a pensioner says we have become a nation of moaners and in 1947 the weather was so bad that even gritters couldnt get through. So basically everyone is in the same boat and FULL credit to milkman, poostman and dustbin men who travel so much through this weather.
