I'm willing to bet the presentation won't include the secret negotiations going off behind the scenes regarding the sale of the rest of Peashill Farm to accomodate an absolutely massive development behind the back of Tollerton airport. The 'Ducking and Diving' started a while ago when Tollerton airfield was sold by Nottm City Council to a local consortium for an 'Undesclosed Fee' Later a piece of Peashill Farm also owned by the council, was sold for a runway extention which would have effectively made an arable field unworkable and also completely obliterate a popular public footpath/bridlepath running from the canal to peashill lane. Peashill Farm is operated by the executors of the estate of the late farmer who died last year and who are believed as sitting tenants, in the process of being 'Bought Off'in a deal between the City Council and the airport consortium. Whilst everyone is being kept busy looking at the Gamston shopfront this lot is going off quietly in the background.

Surely the authorities would never resort to such despicable underhand measures?

Trying naively to understand the scenario outlined above. Looking at GE I know the footpath refereed to well and have often used it. To reach there the east/west aligned runway would have to be extended by over 50% of its existing length. For what sort of aircraft is such an extension required on wonders. And if the airport is to accept larger craft should not the other runways be extended too? Where might we find out more of this?
