Myself and many of my neighbours are sick and tired of the constant mopeds just riding around for the sheer fun of it constantly up and down the road most of the evening which isnt just annoying but interferes with the TV signals too and makes the Tv picture freeze which I am sure is not going to please alot of people when the World Cup starts. Speaking to them reasonably doesnt seem to help neither does shouting at them help so can someone please tell all us fed up victims what we are supposed to do to get some form of peace and quiet. Dont tell me to ring the police as I know of five different people who have rang Crimestoppers and they have been told that they cant help and ring the local Police Station which they have done and its closed. I have rang on numerous occasions and managed to get through once and was told someone would be out but I guess it never happened because the bikes were going up and down for the next three hours. It would be interesting if the police copuld answer me about this one too. | |||||

I know how you feel returning fromt he shopping centre LAST NIGHT my father had to stamp on the brakes near the post box at the top of woodview because they came flying round the corner not paying due attention to any road users. Its about time they were stamped out. Id suggest phoning the police but they are normally too busy stood at the council house telling people not to sit on the steps (like last wednesday there was 4 of them there and friday but they were holding a stall THAT day!!)it is beyond a joke now. One of these little "gems"will soon get hurt and sue for eleventy billion pounds and leave the community broke.

I know what you are on about i brought the subject up a few weeks ago on here i emailed a councillor and asked about speed bumps, they are not an option but i was promised that we would see more police activity which should help to solve the problem. I just wish someone would inform the police as they have not shown up. And every night we have to put up with the constant high pitced noise these machines make

Firstly any parent using this message board and has offspring that ride mopeds should be aware of the fact that one day one or more of them are going to be hurt or finish up in a body bag. They think they are invincible. They are not. The police have issued twelve section 59 notices to riders in Cotgrave. This means that if they are reported misbehaving, speeding etc then their machines will be confiscated and crushed. One has already had to go and watch his beloved moped being crushed. I can understand everyone's frustration but the answer is report report report. It doesn't have to be at the time. Keep trying until you get someone. If you can get a registration number even better. The police do take the issue very seriously but they need our help. There is a counter clerk during the day. Drop in and tell them when it happended and a description or registration nunmber if you have one. The more reports the get the sooner they will be taken off the road.

Its about time the police did what they were paid for instead of picking on the innocent.My grandson was pushing a mini motor from his house the other day to his friends when a pcso stopped in his car took the mini motor off him and said he was confiscating it. When my grandson (whos 14 ) objected he was physically assaulted by the officer photos to prove it. Isnt it the norm these days that the wrong people are targeted by the police and not those who need to be the focus of police attention, like one I saw yesterday riding up woodview without a helmet on. I waqs just praying for him to come off or the police to turn up but as usual neither happened.

Aren't mini moto's banned though? I thought they were so if your grandson was only pushing it then he would still have been noticed, but I'm not 100% sure on this - anyone else know?Just out of interest, where did your grandson ride it?
