Message board Post Details

Back

Thought id say now as ive been stood back from afar and resisted commenting or saying anyhting as normally it means im going to be at "loggerheads" with someone about something but i thought id make this suggestion.

The message board seems to have dried up completely really except for the occasional (and well warranted)moan lol think its maybe high time that we moved it on and spent the money used in maintaining it on something nice or something different and unusual that makes Cotgrave stand out? like liasing with the post office to let the kids of cotgrave conduct a vote on what colour postboxes should be in THEIR area im sure the post office would agree as it gives them good PR and the kids would love doing it :)

For now im heading back to my quiet hole. Cotgrave has given me joy and pain over the years and the community spirit that onced existed can not be re-claimed and has gone or maybe we are all blind and it does exist just we dont include ourselves as life is always a hurry or technology has blinded us all. Stop and say hi to a neighbour for a chat, ask them for a cuppa. A challenge for you all say good morning/afternoon/ evening to a stranger every week. a smile on the bus or giving up your seat is always a gesture.

See you all the next time something flares up lol ;)

Take care Cotgravians

The community spirit has migrated to the message board much of the time. We might pass a few comments whilst on the allotment, in the welfare or down the post office but this message board is ever important. It becomes more so in times of trouble. People have a habit of keeping quiet and letting the rest of the world get on with it unless it affects them personally. Its human nature. You must know this, Andrew.

I agree that community spirit is essential and look forward to a time when we have a place in Cotgrave where people naturally commune. It seems unlikely whilst cheap TV exists and thrives.

I'm sorry about the name sir. I often confuse them. Really. The debate will go on forever. That's the way it is.
