The message board is intended for use as an open forum within the community, to promote discussion and to develop interest and understanding. The board is open to all members of our community from youngest to oldest. Please bear that in mind when leaving messages on the board.
The Town Council will use the board to display information thought to be of value and will,on occasions, ask questions and seek answers from the community. Members of the community are invited to use the board in exactly the same manner.

Remember messages posted to the board are the sole responsibility of the contributor and do not necessarily represent the views of the Town Council, its officers or individual councillors unless otherwise specifically stated.

The Town Council invite and welcome your comments and contributions but ask that messages are civil and tolerant and can be read by any member of the community without offence. Different viewpoints are fine so long as they are expressed politely and do not contain abuse or imply threats. Any message posted on the board that is offensive, does not comply with current legislation or seeks to damage community spirit will be removed without notice.

Here are the basic rules which the Town Council will apply

    1. Messages containing swear words or obscene material will be be removed.
    2. Messages that abuse, threaten, or harass individuals or groups will be removed.
    3. Messages that encourage or seek to provoke illegal acts will be removed.
    4. Messages containing unsubstantiated allegations will be removed.

The list is short but the Town Council reserve the right to expand this list at any time if circumstances indicate the need.

Also please remember moderating the message board is a matter of judgement. If you disagree with our actions to leave messages in or to take messages out please let us know. If you post a message and later change your mind let us know, we can remove it for you.
