The message board is
intended for use as an open forum within the community, to promote
discussion and to develop interest and understanding. The board is
open to all members of our community from youngest to oldest.
Please bear that in mind when leaving messages on the board.
The Town Council will use the board to display information thought
to be of value and will,on occasions, ask questions and seek
answers from the community. Members of the community are invited
to use the board in exactly the same manner.
Remember messages posted to the board are the sole
responsibility of the contributor and do not necessarily represent
the views of the Town Council, its officers or individual
councillors unless otherwise specifically stated.
The Town Council invite and welcome your comments and
contributions but ask that messages are civil and tolerant and can
be read by any member of the community without offence. Different
viewpoints are fine so long as they are expressed politely and do
not contain abuse or imply threats. Any message posted on the
board that is offensive, does not comply with current legislation
or seeks to damage community spirit will be removed without
notice.
Here are the basic rules which the Town Council will apply
1. Messages containing swear words or obscene material will be
be removed.
2. Messages that abuse,threaten, or harass individuals or groups
will be removed.
3. Messages that encourage or seek to provoke illegal acts will be
removed.
4. Messages containing unsubstantiated allegations will be
removed.
The list is short but the Town Council reserve the right to
expand this list at any time if circumstances indicate the need.
Also please remember moderating the message board is a matter
of judgement. If you disagree with our actions to leave messages
in or to take messages out please let us know. If you post a
message and later change your mind let us know, we can remove it
for you.
